Isn't spring the best? As my babes snooze the afternoon away, I am indulging myself by watching some basketball with the windows open. Heav-en-ly.
This week was so so slow at our house. It was mostly by accident and a little on purpose. Our two playdates for the week were cancelled for various reasons and I have been trying to be more purposeful by staying home and allowing time for free play and time outside on the farm. I have been reading Simplicity Parenting by Kim John Payne (for the second time) and it has me checking my perspective on how I want to raise my littles. I am trying to simplify the stuff we have in our home as well as simplify our lifestyle. Easier said than done, but I'm working on it. More on that later.
We spent some lazy days making muffins and 'going on adventures' as Luke would say. The weather has been perfection. I totally notice a difference in myself and my kids when we slow down a bit. We are calmer, less stressed, more centered. Lily also ended up with an ear infection on Thursday, so that shut us down completely. You know the scenario...when a child gets sick, everything halts to a stop for awhile.
We did make some time (pre-ear infection) to go to the library and pick up some new books since we needed to be in the city for Luke's hair cut. I'm pretty sure Luke gets four hair cuts for every one I get...the little luxuries of being a babe, and he doesn't even know it.
This weekend is going to be pretty low key as well. We are celebrating a special girl on Saturday at her birthday party and then church on Sunday. Hope you all have a blessed weekend!
