Luke is 6

Our tiny 7 pound 15 ounce babe has turned into a little boy.  Hair cropped short by Daddy, eyes wild with excitement at building a Lego set or completing a dot-to-dot, the boy who made me a mom is growing up right before my eyes.

Luke is smart and has a big gift-giving heart.  He does cute little boy things like hop and jump and wrestle around on his own and with his Daddy.  He loves tractors and trains and equipment, and harvest season is his favorite time of year.  Luke started as a shy, introverted toddler and is slowing becoming a talker, especially when it comes to his favorite things.  He can read and write and do simple math.  He both loves and loathes playing with his siblings.  Luke is proud when he finishes his plate of food and doesn't 'waste anything'.  He is attuned to recycling and not using too much electricity.  Luke loves his Daddy in a way that makes my heart almost burst.

He loves learning about space and dinosaurs and anything with an engine in it. His dream is to build the biggest Lego city in the world.  Luke is efficient at puzzles and making us roll our eyes at his jokes.  He loves his grandparents and cousins and still thinks 'Uncle Brandon is the best'.  Luke's toddler fears have slowly dissipated as he has no trouble jumping down a flight of stairs or going down a big water slide.  He can be both sweet and troublesome, but we love him when he's both.  Luke is six and I've said this at every age, but I wish I could memorize every single piece of him and keep him this way awhile longer.

Happy Birthday to our sweet boy!
