What I've Learned

I love being Luke's mommy.  It is the absolute best job in the world and I feel blessed to be able to stay home with our little guy.  In the three and a half weeks Luke has been with us, I have learned so SO much about being a mom to Luke.
Like...
How to type on my laptop with one hand while holding Luke.  ( I started this post like that.)
The best ways to hold Luke to make him comfortable...he likes leaning against my shoulder.
I will learn new things about our little man everyday.
I will always be trying to problem solve something that is happening with Luke.  Right now, it's his sleeping...big shocker.
Things DO NOT always go according to plan.
Good burps are like gold.
I can function with less, much less, than 8 hours of sleep.
I am a lighter sleeper than I thought.
Leftovers taste much better than they ever have before.
Everything Luke does is absolutely precious to Kevin and I, even when it comes to burping and pooping.
Kevin is an amazing daddy.
Everyone tried to tell me how amazing being a parent would be, but I definitely didn't fully understand until I heard that sweet little cry from our Luke.

We are so thankful!

This was the best Thanksgiving ever.  Kevin and I are so thankful for our healthy little boy and all the family and friends that already love and support Luke.  My family came to Macedonia for turkey dinner this past weekend and we decided to make it a tradition.  It was the first time my sister, Rachael, was able to meet Luke, along with all his cousins.  They thought he was pretty special as they kept on calling him Master Luke all weekend.  I'm pretty sure he was held the entire 48 hours they were here.  The funniest part of the weekend:  I am sitting and feeding Luke under a blanket.  Xavier had come in and out of the room a few times and stared at us curiously.  He asked what I was doing and I told him I was feeding Luke.  He asks, "Do you have a bottle under there or something?"  It was absolutely priceless and I'm sure he is still wondering why we all thought that was so funny.

Thank you to my family for making the trip...we love you!

Luke Edwin

As most of you know, Luke Edwin was born last Saturday evening at 10:38 p.m.  He weighed in at 7 pounds 15 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long.  Kevin and I are absolutely in heaven and can't believe how much love we have for this little guy.  He is absolutely perfect (well we think so) and we are enjoying being home as a family of three.  We have been soaking up the cuddles, baby noises, little fingers and toes, kisses and snuggles.  We thank God for our little Luke.
