Luke is 2

Luke is two...WHAT??!!

I know.  I can't believe it either.  Our little man is two years old and his little life is about to be turned upside down with the addition of a baby girl in a few weeks.  He has no idea what is about to hit him, but I have no doubt he will be a great big brother, after some adjustment time, of course.  Here is what Luke has been up to lately:

  • Luke's vocabulary has taken off.  His favorite words are: Dada (most recently being expanded to Daddyyy), Mama, Papa, car, dozer, kitty, nigh-night, and bear.  His full list of words continues to grow, but he uses most of them sparingly.
  • Playing with his cars, tractors, and machines, are one of Luke's most favorite things to do.  He will line them up on the couch, ottoman, and in the playroom.  They keep him busy.
  • This kid can't live without stickers.  He goes through at least one sheet of car stickers a day.  (And they must be car stickers.)
  • Luke loves pointing out cars in magazines. Kevin bought him an AutoTrader magazine for a boy's night and Luke has been looking at it for weeks. You can say we've gotten a lot of mileage out of it...
  • Luke still has a knack for sorting, organizing, and (sometimes) cleaning.
  • Luke loves hugging his stuffed puppy, Maudy, and strolling her around in his grocery cart.
  • If we go for a walk outside, Luke usually heads straight for the shop to check out the truck, tractors, and mower.  He loved riding on the tractor and mower with Daddy this summer.
  • Luke's favorite foods are anything with Grandma's honey (bzzzz), raspberries, peanut butter and jelly, yogurt (ya-ya), and energy balls.
  • Luke still takes a good afternoon nap everyday for about 3 hours.
  • When we're about to do something Luke is not excited about, he puts the 'STALL' in Forristall. It's not beneath him to use hugs and kisses to delay the inevitable.
  • At his two year well visit Luke weighed in at 24 pounds 9 ounces (23.9%) and was 34 inches tall (37.78%).  His head circumference was 51.2 cm (98.6%).  Like our doctor said, he has lots of brain and not a lot of brawn.
  • Luke loves reading books that have trucks in them, as well as books with kitties.  Lift the flap books are extra fun for him.
  • Luke is a slow riser in the mornings.  He loves to come into Mommy and Daddy's bed and snuggle for about 15 minutes before he gets around for the day.

Happy Birthday to our sweet two year old!
