Happy Friday, all! I am ready for a fun weekend! Hope you all stay warm...the temperature is supposed to drop significantly on the Trail. Have a blessed weekend!
We took advantage of the awesome weather this week!
That headband...
We were able to go to BI and BR's game at TJ in Council Bluffs. It was great to see these girls...bummed we didn't get a picture, BR!
Such a sweet, swaddled, sleeping baby.
We visited Lauritzen Gardens in Omaha with Ga-Ga (Grandma Diane).
There is a lego exhibit right now...Luke loved it!

Back at it...Tot School {26 months}
I finally found the time and energy to start Tot School back up again with Luke. It's been a long while since we have done some structured play and learning, so I am excited to get back into a routine. Life is a lot busier with two babes, so I am going to try my best keep up with it. Here is what we were up to last week during Tot School...
Circle Sensory Bin
Rating: 3/5
Skills:
Sensory development
Vocabulary
Shapes: circle
Colors
Activity:
Luke explored the circle sensory bin for a small amount of time. It definitely wasn't his favorite activity of the week. We talked about how each item was a circle and I had Luke run his finger around the items.
Dot-a-dot Circle
Rating: 4/5
Skills:
Fine motor development
Shapes: circle
Colors
Vocabulary
Writing/Drawing
Activity:
Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of this one. Luke used dot markers to make dots around a circle. We talked about each color he was using on the circle and he was pretty efficient at saying the word 'circle'. I found the page over at www.3dinosaurs.com. They have lots of great 'shape' pages.
Circle Color Sheet
Rating: 3/5
Skills:
Fine motor development
Colors
Shapes: circle
Writing/Drawing
Activity:
Luke used crayons to color each circle with the correct color. This was an activity that didn't last too long.
Gluing Circles
Rating: 5/5
Skills:
Fine motor development
Shapes: circle
Activity:
I 'drew' a circle with glue on a piece of paper and Luke placed circles all around it. He really liked making the circles stick on the paper.
Counting Circles
Rating: 5/5
Skills:
Shapes: circle
Numbers/Counting
Activity:
We used number cards and Luke counted circles for each card, with my help of course. He really like stacking the circles on top of each number. If I were going to do it again, I would have enough circles for Luke to do each number 1-5 and see them all laid out together. (Sorry about the poor quality of this picture.)
Cork Stamping
Rating: 5/5
Skills:
Shapes: circle
Colors
Fine motor development
Art
Activity:
Luke loves paint. I gave him a cork, since the end is in the shape of a circle, and he stamped away.
Decorating a Circle
Rating: 5/5
Skills:
Shapes: circle
Fine motor development
Colors
Art
Activity:
Using a circle paper, I put dots of glue on the paper and Luke placed poms on each one. He, of course, picked out where he wanted the glue and pons to go.

Random Picture Friday
We have had a pretty busy and fun week, but we are definitely looking forward to another 'warm' (for Iowa) weekend!
P.S. Some of these pictures are a few weeks old because I finally was able to upload Kevin's phone pictures onto the computer!
Luke can be caught doing this multiple times throughout the day...reading his Bible with his door shut.
Luke usually gets to pick the books read to Lily...Little Blue Truck it is!
Luke wanted to sit in Lily's car seat.
Great-Grandpa Turner and Great-Grandma Turner were able to meet Lily!
Lots of blue for Baby John Newcomer!
The beautiful amaryllis that Diane gave me for Christmas...even more beautiful when it's cold outside.
We have spent lots of time at the zoo this past week and a half.
Daddy reading to Luke and Lily...another tractor book.
Sweetness.
Luke showed Daddy around the zoo on MLK Day.
His favorite part...the 'big crane'.
She is getting so big!
Luke helped me make blueberry muffins this morning. He was very interested in the batter.
